About

I write books and I am a Professor of French Studies at Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania. I also live in New York and Montréal, Québec, where I was born. My parents travelled at lot, so I was raised in Turkey, Greece, Italy and France. I hold a PhD. From Yale University. I’ve been teaching at Swarthmore College since 1997.

I speak and write in the French, English, and Italian languages. My hobby is to learn Japanese, but it’s hard. I love to travel to Japan, and also to Southeast Asia.
